Production Associate - (Embroidery)

We’re looking for someone(s) who:

  • is at least 18 years old
  • has availability 3-5 days a week
  • likes working with their hands and is comfortable being on their feet most of the day
  • is able to learn and streamline processes
  • is detailed oriented
  • is comfortable communicating questions and concerns
  • is reliable and able to work independently

Production typically runs Monday-Friday between 8 to 5 depending on the day of the week and who’s working, but we’re able to accommodate for school hours and do have some weekend/evening production for fully trained employees during our busy seasons.

While production decoration would be considered light labor, it is still a physical job that requires standing, bending, reaching and a fair amount of arm/hand/finger strength.

Fine motor coordination is also needed since we have 150 needles between all of our machines that regularly need re-threading. We often are moving and lifting boxes up to 25lbs.

The decoration process has a lot of steps and details will change within single orders. Being able to learn those steps, adding knowledge through training and observation, and apply learnings to future projects is critical.

Embroidery designs and stitching is all completed through digital automation but the process requires a detailed and critical eye since we match colors, cross check complex orders, make sure the machines are loaded and calibrated properly, troubleshoot minor mechanical issues, make sure apparel is hooped with the correct backing, tension, and angles, and make sure items look their best before they are repacked for pickup.

We want someone on our team who can count on to be there each day since it's typical for us to receive between 10-30 new orders daily and we work together to meet critical deadlines.

Even production decoration is an art form and with so many steps in the process, mistakes can and will happen. Because we work so closely together, it’s important that we check each other’s work, ask questions to each other if directions aren’t clear, and communicate errors early and often so we can get them fixed.

**Here’s a couple of videos from our social media showing Rachel and Kat working on orders to show what part of the process looks like.**

What’s great about our work:

  • casual environment
  • flexibility in scheduling
  • learning new and unique skills
  • creating work that gets seen by thousands of people each day
  • discounted apparel and decoration services

Because production requires a lot of movement, the team is encouraged to dress comfortably where the team is usually somewhere on the spectrum between “professional athlesiure” to “business casual” depending on our roles and personal style.

Since we’ve been lucky to have a team who takes a lot of ownership of making sure projects get finished on time, we have been able to accommodate for appointments, school delays, vacations and unexpected illnesses or family emergencies.

Many are surprised to find you don’t need to know how to sew or have ever cross stitched to run an industrial embroidery machine. It can help since some skills like being able to eyeball a straight line, create a knot and thread a needle quickly, and change a bobbin but anyone who is trainable, understands the importance of creating “flow” to keep work moving forward, and has decent fine motor skills can be great.

We’re all over town and the country! Our customers include the Boone County Sheriff’s office, GreenCycle, several fire departments, Interactive Academy, Zionsville Schools, Indy Fuel Jr., White Castle, International School of Indiana, Tipsy Mermaid and El Toro, Marian University and Butler Golf, Performance Services, Ascension St. Vincent, Hancock Health, Riley Children’s Hospital, Control Tech and Mit-e-Ducts, hundreds of local medical, dental, and  aesthetic offices, builders, plumbers, excavators, landscapers, pavers, accountants, lawyers, IT professionals, churches and non-profit organizations. We enjoy seeing customers come back again and again, watching them grow along with us since we originally opened in 1996. Our customers often use our expertise to help them with colors, styles, and give feedback on what are trends for promotional clothing because their business and branding is important and they want to look their best.

After initial training and management approval (around 3 months) employees can purchase clothing and accessories at a discounted rate for themselves or their family. Decoration services are also discounted for employees.
